Sexism, or anything, in genre fiction is just a slice of the rest of mainstream media. It's just that comics and pulp paintings are visual... they're also hampered by their roots as adolescent male entertainment. Whatever. People like to look at attractive people. Sometimes I think that we should depict a greater variety of humans in our media, but then I think, god, who wants to look at uggos? (Uggoes?) I am known to scream at my television: "Who is that ugly person? Get that goddamn mutant off my TV!"
